Kasambabezi Binga Marathon rebrands

The 2025 edition of the Binga Marathon heralds a significant turning point for the event following a partnership with Open Letta Communications, a South African-based branding agency, that has resulted in a major rebranding.

According to a press release, the marathon has undergone a brand facelift that includes a revamped identity and the launch of a new official website.

“The new logo isn’t just a visual update, it’s a new mission. A new heartbeat,” said Thabo Clarence, founder of Open Letta Communications.
“It reflects the pride and identity of the BaTonga people, and the deep, flowing power of the Zambezi River. It’s about reclaiming the spirit of a region often overlooked and putting it on the world map.”

This year’s event will be the first in Zimbabwean history to be held across two countries, making it a trailblazing twin-venue format. While Binga remains the soul of the race, the Poland edition reflects the growing ambition and expanding reach of the Kasambabezi brand.

Core Founder and Board Chairperson Never Mwinde, who birthed the event out of passion and purpose said, “It has always been about the community and the culture. I’m honored to hand over the baton of growth to the team at Open Letta Communications, who in a short space of time are bringing in great strategic vision and partnerships. Having led the vision for the past decade, it felt like the right time to bring in new blood to help with the growth of the marathon and so far, it has been a pleasure working with the new team.” about to be made as the Binga Kasambabezi Marathon goes international in 2025, turning what started as a humble local race into a global cultural and sporting explosion.

This year’s run is scheduled for 27 September and comprises a variety of events ranging from the 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km race.

On wheels we have the 50km cycle race and the 10km wheelchair challenge.

A chess tournament & draughts competition will be held on the eve of the marathon.

The weekend coincides with the BaTonga Cultural Festival so it is not only a weekend of running but exciting activities too.

In Poland there will be a 12km race as it is its inaugural race.

Last year, Binga saw around 1,200 participants and 2,000 total attendees.
In 2025, expectations are high with close to 3000 people expected to attend the Binga race while in Poland close to 1000 athletes are expected to take part in the race.
