ENTRY CONDITIONS AND RULES – Binga Kasambabezi Marathon
No late entries will be accepted.
Do not swap race numbers with a friend – this will result in incorrect timing and disqualification.
Prize winners will be verified by the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (NAAZ) before official results are confirmed and prize money is released. Random doping tests may be conducted, and prize money may be subject to taxation under Zimbabwean law.
Once winners are verified, prize money will be paid – this process can take up to two weeks. If doping tests are conducted, results may take up to six weeks.
MARATHON (42.195 KM)
Open to runners aged 20 years and above.
All finishers completing the race within the 12:30 PM cut-off will receive medals.
HALF MARATHON (21.0975 KM)
Open to runners aged 18 years and above.
All finishers completing the race within the 12:30 PM cut-off will receive medals.
HALF MARATHON RELAY (10.5 KM x 2 RUNNERS)
Open to runners aged 15 years and above.
Finishers must complete within the 12:30 PM cut-off to receive medals.
Each team will receive one baton containing the timing chip. This baton must be carried by the first runner and handed over to the second runner at the transition point (location to be confirmed at number collection).
Transport to the change-over point will be provided for the second runner.
First runners must arrange their own transport back to the finish area.
You will be required to present your Zimbabwean ID/passport, proof of residency (if SADC), and entry confirmation to collect your race number and baton at the number collection venue.
If collecting on behalf of another athlete, their documentation and permission letter are required.
The first runner starts with the Half Marathon field and runs the first 10.5 km.
The second runner completes the final 10.5 km into the finish area and will be awarded two medals (one for each team member) upon finishing.
Buses for second runners will depart before the marathon start – follow instructions at number collection. The transition point will be clearly marked with branding and a tent, and will include toilets and refreshments.

FUN RUN (Approx. 5 KM)
Open to runners aged 10 years and above, or any age if accompanied by an adult.
This event is not timed and no medals or prizes will be awarded.
SUMMARY RACE RULES
Please note the Binga Kasambabezi Marathon takes place in a wildlife and natural environment. While safety marshals and officials will be present, all athletes must exercise caution.
No headphones or earphones allowed – for safety due to wildlife and vehicle traffic.
Some sections of the route may have vehicle traffic – obey all traffic and race officials.
Only the starting area and selected crossing points may be closed to traffic.
The event organisers reserve the right to reject entries without explanation.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
No branding or advertising on athletes allowed except for official bibs and club colours.
Race numbers are non-transferable.
Obey all marshals and officials – their decision is final.
No mobile seconding or support vehicles will be permitted. Violations may result in disqualification.
Water points will be available at intervals.
Run on the right-hand side of the road (facing oncoming traffic), unless otherwise directed.
Display your race number on the front of your running vest.
Dispose of litter at water stations, in bins, or where it can be easily seen. Do not litter into bush areas.
